i remember someone saying ubs appear randomly in patches of grass so maybe start in grassy areas?

Solgaleo, Lunalaa and Necrozma are basically the Legendaries to the Ultra Beasts. The Ultra Beasts seem so special because they come from another world, but the game explains that multiples of Ultra Beasts exist and most of them in their origin dimension are just normal Pokemon like how Snorlax are normal to us.

It doesn't learn any Ice moves or have any descriptions of being cold though.

Even if you disregard freezing, the thing is still made of crystals, sleeps underground, and has the moves to show it. Why isn't it at least Psychic/Rock?

Imo it seems like they are trying to shift the tone of the series a bit (Just read the dex entries posted here) and UBs are a way to test drastically different types of designs without changing how "normal" Pokemon look.

i love the ultra beasts but i hope their alien kinda design doesnt become the norm in later gens or remakes. if suddenly we see new pokemon with freaky designs that blow these ones out of the water the original reveal loses the impact

sun gets 2 gainsquitos and moon gets 4 waifu roaches

dont know how many kartanas or celesteeles there are because the text dump has it as "and it wasnt a single sighting either" but it does confirm the version exclusives give out multiples for trading. but there only 1 xircutree and 1 guzzlord

Kind of funny that its related to prisms and colors, just like Ozma from FF9.

Zygarde had 80 less BST than Xerneas and Yveltal in XY too. If Necrozma is the third legendary it'll get a new form for sure. Kyurem and Zygarde had less BST than the others in their trio specifically so their new forms in later games could actually be stronger rather than what they did with Giratina and switching it's defended with attacks, removing it's legs and calling it a day.

Nope Necrozma isn't a UB, it's sort of halfway between a Pokemon and Ultra Beast. It works like normal old legendaries. It'll have a gimmick in the next games for sure though.

Well, Zygarde's new forme might be stronger stat-wise, but essentially its ability is bad, if the forme somehow is changeable at will then things will be different. Although, it got such a massive HP stat and odd speed and offensive stats compared to previous trio masters.

Distortion World is a pocket dimension connected to the Pokemon world so like on the Pokemon World they'd adapt quick and not much else. Giratina would be pretty pissed though. Maybe he drags you into the Distortion World to catch all the UBs so he doesn't have to deal with them.

Ultra Beasts are Pokémon from a completely different planet in a completely different universe. They don't seem to have humans or any species capable of training them so they evolved down a very different path to Pokémon in the main universe. Wormholes have led them to the main universe where they're wreaking havoc because they weren't designed to fit into Alola's ecosystem.Pokeballs have trouble identifying their DNA as Pokémon DNA so Beast Balls were created specifically for them.

Essentially they're very distantly related cousins of modern Pokemon but from another world too. They might be what Pokemon were like before humans evolved. And Necrozma is genetically halfway between an Ultra Beast and a Pokemon and has slept underground for thousands of years. He's pretty much confirmed as the third main legendary this gen and we know nothing else about him yet.

I like to think the first time the ancient laser canon was fired it sent a beam out into space and destroyed a planet full of cellular life. 3,000 years later a meteorite housing a small group of those cells gets hit again when Lysander activates it (with the laser just brushing it) giving it life.
Also that laser used Pokemon life force and possibly ended up making the Mega Stones, so that could explain why Deoxys can change forms, because it's a Mega in flux.

I haven't been completely spoiled yet so I don't know about that. But Aether thinking that Arceus would be able to stop the ultra beasts doesn't mean they're right. For all we know Arceus is also some alien beastie from a different dimension than the ultra beasts and is just, like, mid-tier or worse if compared to the ultra beasts as a whole. The worst part is that it could still be basically god and have created the universe, if it's from another dimension, it's emergence in a pre big bang universe could have been what created the universe as we know it, yet it doesn't guarantee it being stronger than the UBs.

By good do you mean competitively viable or "not evil"? Because everyone but Guzzlord and maybe Nihilego could be pretty strong, and none of the UBs are evil, they're either following their nature like Nihilego or are just confused/scared after accidentally coming to another world.

Nothing. Like Lusamine and Lillie, they only styled their appearance after the UB's. It's possible that Lusamine encouraged him to dress up the way he does or it was coincidence that they looked similar and Lusamine was interested in him because of this.

The Xurkitree connection can just be assumed from his being in Lusamine's pocket while she and her daughter are both dressed like UBs. She's just fucking insane, and makes the people close to her look as much like UBs as possible.
