Necrozma doesn't require a Beast Ball because it's not a true UB. It's the trio master for Solgaleo and Lunaala (like Rayquaza, Giratina, Kyurem, etc)

It's a random encounter on Ten Carat Hill.

I believe you get 50 Beast Balls in total. 10 before each new one.

You don't actually have to use them though.

Since regular Poké Balls will work (just not as well) do Beast Balls work on other Pokémon if you've got spare after catching all the Ultra Beasts?

This is confirmed, and you can pass beast balls down through breeding.

I still want a definite answer to OP's question, since tbqh I don't believe the whole "Necrozma's a wild encounter :^)" thing.

I know post game you get quests to catch UB02s (version exclusive), Xuritree, and UB04s (Version exclusives). Not sure on UB01 (imagine it's a story mon), Guzzlord, or Necrozma.

After the looker sidequest, which is started postgame at route 8, you can catch Necrozma.

He's then a random encounter at Ten Carat Hill at level 75, so you should use repels.

It has Solgaleo/Lunalas theme

I don't know what happens if you kill it, i masterballed it on the first turn because I didn't know if it would run and I was freaking out.
