In XY and ORAS, breeding a female Pokémon will cause the offspring to hatch in whatever ball the female has (unless it's a Master or Cherish Ball, in which case they'll hatch in a regular Poké Ball). In SM, male and genderless Pokémon can also pass down their balls if bred with Ditto.

gen 6 it only passed via females which meant a lot of ball combos were illegal as it was impossible to get ha johtoball mons and shit like that
now, assuming that males/genderless can pass balls via ditto it opens up a few more possibilities, especially if that qr thing can find pokemon with hidden abilities

Daycare is early-ish on the second island, has an up-down path, Stoutland runs faster than charging Tauros without using B, and you get it right before running into the daycare, so it's probably intended as the new bike.

I haven't tried breeding yet, as half the road is blocked for story reasons.

They gave us a way to change IVs before changing balls which is mind boggling. Then again will still don't have multiple save files etc

That's a deliberate design choice.

Multiple save files = siblings and couples sharing copies instead of buying their own.

Did it ever occur to you that they just don't want it to be a thing?

Switching balls at will would be pretty boring. Ball inheritance makes breeding more interesting and they probably want to keep it that way
