How does Emergency Exit actually work? I've had several battles where my Golisopod got it's health lowered more than half but it didn't activate and stayed in I'm so confused

Maybe the ability actually activates only if he goes to half health in a single attack and not, say, from 70% health to 30% health?

I don't understand what the fuck is going on, some people even say it works like an automatic baton pass. Can you try passing bulk up or something to another pokemon and confirm/deny this?

I think it's confirmed that it doesn't work like an autobaton pass. Which is a shame, because it would make it ridicously (?) good, but I think GF MORE OR LESS learned its lesson after Parental Bond, Gale Wings and Protean.
