Lillie was the fucking worst. Zinnia could have been worst but she was only relevant for 30 minute side episode. Lillie was present for much of the whole game, and the PC feels inconsequential. Didn't help that she couldn't do much of anything on her own.

But as far as an additional NPC goes in the games, N/Eusine/etc is more similar to AZ rather than Sina and Dexio

Zinnia may be less 'likeable' than Lillie, but she's only around for a post-game bit. Meanwhile Lillie is there the whole game, constantly in the spotlight trying to be endearing.

Also Zinnia is at least hot, while Lillie is not.

She also helped Tierno to evacuate the Pokemon so they don't die to AZ's machine.

This is why I'm suspicious of anyone who says something is worse than gen 6 when it comes to plot. Nothing is worse than gen 6 in terms of plot, NOTHING.

Really he's just a symptom of the story being more involved without actually being any better than previous gens

No, no I don't think you understand XY's story is beyond bad. It's so broken the only explanation for it being bad is GF took notes down for the story and then combined them without looking at what they wrote making a story that is so full of plot holes that to any writer it is incomprehensible.

Example, before third gym no one knows what Mega Evolution is even the professor with no books about it. After third gym, there's a temple and entire town dedicated to it.
Only explanation of plot hole is everyone in Kalos is retarded, not as an insult, but as a true fact as no one can be this stupid to not notice a main town in the goddamn region dedicated to the so called "unknown" mega evolution.
