No it means it's literally impossible to get a normal Rattata in SM because obviously only Alolan Rattata are in the wild and even BREEDING a normal Rattata results in an Alolan Rattata.

It's like if you took two black people to Japan, made them fuck, and then they popped out an Asian baby just because they are in Japan

I bought pokebank, it isn't a big deal for $5 for a year really, and it's really fucking useful. IMO I don't mind if that's the only way now to get non alolan but I guess it will bother others

Pokebank will get you the normal form, but if you want to breed it, you're stuck.
No way to get a Gen 7 legal for any of those Mons.
They've basically moved them all into the no-eggs group.
Alolan forms was a failed experiment.

Good thing do I don't need to wait until they release the HA's for them, I can just breed the OG. Just caught this Geodude yesterday, gonna try to get a Galvanize A-Golem. I still need Sandshrew and Cubone.

Yeah, but ever since Gen 2, you could get any old individual from a species you couldn't catch otherwise and breed a competitive mon out of it. Legendaries were the only exception.
Now you can't breed for anything that got an Alolan form this gen. Or Lycanroc, for that matter.

Made worse by the fact that they could before.
There was absolutely no reason to remove a handful of mons' ability to breed.

I bought it too but it does feel like a rip off, not because it's expensive, $5 a year for the server space for your pokemon is not that bad but they could've easily made a one time purchase version that stores your pokemon in your SD card.

I know it's a long shot, but is it possible that the RBY transfers will have some tag or something that makes them breed the non-alola formes?
Seems like something Gamefreak would do, make you buy a 10 dollar re-release and 5 dollar bank just to have normal formes.
