I like the actual set (probably what I'll run), but I'd replace Merciless with Regenerator, and stick the 252 EV's in SpA into one of the defenses.

This thing isn't made for attacking, it's made for stalling and spreading status around.

Toxic is far more reliable to get the poison condition though.

When you're guaranteed the poison you don't need to switch out for regen.

Yes, the idea is viable--especially if you wanna focus on stall/defense. I think Toxic, Venoshock/Scald/Recover with Merciless is better if you want to go offense.

Merciless Toxapex kinda sucks. Leave the Venoshock sweeping to something meant to do it. Like Gengar, which can proceed to come in with Venoshock/Hex after Toxapex has worn down the enemy.

Because not everything can be poisoned, numbnuts. Without Merciless being activated, Surf is useless. Toxapex's SpA is too low on its own.

So, if the opponent is Poison or Steel type, you use Scald to burn it instead, so that Toxapex isn't completely walled by them.

There's actually only a few pokemon in the current the OU that counter him.

If you read a switch to Tyranitar or something, you can do FD and then trap them and heal off damage.

Z-Splash is terrible. All it takes is your opponent to force you to switch out, and you're left with no way to boost your attack, and have complete dead weight for one-fourth of your moves.

Here's the logic. Defense has been boosted just a bit, to make it able to at least take a physical attack. Special Defense is pretty much reliant on the Assault Vest.

Moonblast/Bug Buzz/HP Ground are for coverage. Draining Kiss is for healing, to add to its bulk. By maxing out its special attacking ability, the bulk gained through Draining Kiss is increased.

No speed investment, but it's a decently fast mon already.

Very open to criticism on this build.

Ghostium-Z gives you a 100% heal before you use it. The point is to trap with soul shackle on the switch, curse, and then either stall/pass to a set-up sweeper who walls them as they tae curse damage. Won't work in VGC or SmogonOU but I can see it being a decent UU or RU threat

Seems fine with the 252 HP / Atk spread, but shadow claw's pros outweigh phantom force's con of being a two-turn move. Does this thing get giga drain? If so, replace mega drain with it. If not, just use rapid spin, because mega drain is super weak (especially when uninvested).

My mistake, it does get giga drain. I didn't know if it did, definitively would replace. I myself find shadow claw better but phantom force has a few advantages, I think it's way too risky in my opinion but workable.

I don't get why people are doing stupid shit like trying to play it offensively. This is the full extent of its usable moves. It has a fast Switcheroo and the fastest Parting Shot in the game and it can hit things with Foul Play. That's a usable kit but it can't do anything beyond that. It cannot do even a single thing beyond that. Pokemon Zetta Grey or whatever it'll probably get Knock Off as a tutor move but as of now, this is the only thing it has going for it.

Gave it enough speed investment and Poison Jab to deal with Clefable and fat stall mons. Aqua Jet is staple move for Golisopod and is necessary for revenge killing. Leech Life will provide it some form of recovery with STAB coverage. Liquidation can also be helpful for the defensive Lando-T switch in as it does over 50% and has a chance to lower its defense for the Aqua Jet kill. Life Orb may activate its ability for instant pivot switch to anything. First Impression is extremely threatening to mons like Latios, non-bulky Tyranitiar, Hydreigon, M-Gardevoir, and Slowbro, which may prompt a switch from your opponent and a chance for you to predict the incoming switch. Overall, I think Gilsopod has a decent chance @ being in OU maybe UU if worst.

This guy is pretty weird. Fluffy lets it be bulky as hell. Moveset offers return and superpower for stab and you kinda just decide what coverage you want. It gets ice and thunder punch but nofire weirdly enough. Does have sword dance which is nice. Sadly no recovery other then rest and pain split. Drain punch would be insane on this this guy, pray for move tutors.

The worst part about Lurantis is that there's so many ways they could have made it good.

If only they had given it base 60+ Speed with Chlorophyll so it can fire off Solar Swords and only Sanic speed mons like ninja snail or Crobat could touch it.

If only they had given it base 80+ speed with Superpower and Leaf Storm so it could make use of Contrary for both a physical set that doesn't get walled hard by Steel and boosts its own attack and defense, or the standard Contrary+Leaf Storm build with something to set it apart from Serperior like better bulk or whatever.

They could have made Solar Blade the new Flying Press and it's Fire/Grass at the same time.

They could have done so much. Instead it is beyond shitmon for absolutely no reason.

Depends on what's your point of reference. You won't be able to transfer until January, so Weavile doesn't currently have access to the awesome move tutor moves it got in ORAS. Compared to an XY Weavile, it has a much better STAB in Throat Chop. No differences other than that.

Elecs didn't get anything new, but there's the Tapu with instant electric terrain.

Official formats are only allowing stuff that is possible without hacks for the time being. Random wi-fi battles will have whatever. Battling with people, like from /vp/, you'd decide on rules with them before starting. Smogon will probably follow the official until transferring is enabled, then it will be whatever is possible to obtain legally.

it has really high base SpD and while it's HP and defense aren't that amazing and it's slow, it has some good things. Lunge lowers the enemy's attack every time (which is great because it's defense it's so high), liquidation has a chance to lower defense to chip away at the enemy, it gets the new leech life which lets it has a recovery (albiet a bit unreliable). It also can either be immune to water or be immune to burn+fire resistance.

The only thing I can't decide on is a 4th move, nature, or EV spread.

Water Bubble doubles its water type attacks. This puts it in league with mons like Crawdaunt as a wallbreaker. It will probably end up in UU or RU since it will be extremely predictable. Even more predictable than Crawdaunt since it has no set up moves other than Rain Dance if you count that.

We'll have to see how metas actually turn out though. It might surprise us.

Banded Wood Hammer 2HKOs almost the entire metagame, horn leech is a 112 BP STAB recovery move off of 130 attack, Grass/Fairy is a surprisingly good defensive typing.
Leech seed + leftovers + grassy terrain + below average HP means it can probably heal about 20% of its HP a turn if it gets the chance.

I tried making something that could work with a volt-turn core and an offensive lead that can force switches with his decent movepool+intimidate. With this spread, Incineroar outspeeds the 110 base speed tier. It's not anything super remarkable, but it seems like it could work decently well. Leech life also seems nice, since it can restore HP lost through Flare Blitz.

I never understood the gimmick with this thing yet I know it's in ubers due to shadow tag. From what I (sort of) understand is that you're supposed to encore and if you encore'd a status move you take advantage of those 3 turns to switch to a sweeper of your own, set up, then start attacking with it since your opponent is locked to a move (though they will probably switch as well once tag is off), or instead if you encore an attack you mirror coat / counter depending on what the attack was.

So my question is, your encore will obviously go second due to speed, so if you take a hit from a set up opponent, then encore, then use the appropriate counter/coat, when your opponent uses the move again..well..you're going to just die from that move, you won't even be able to bounce the damage back due to the reflect going second? and if you want to destiny bond knowing you're about to die your bond will still go second due to speed...so you'll die before you use it?

Psychic is used to nail poison types that resist water like Tentacruel and Toxicroak. Energy Ball hits water types harder, Ice Beam hits grass types harder but neither of them are usually needed. Speed IVs are run to outpace certain Florges and Cresselia sets and speed tie Sylveon.

Custap Berry for the destiny bond. Mirror Force/Counter with Shadow Tag was only banned up to Gen 4. Gen 5 power creeped it out. Before that, it was hard to even do half of a fully invested Wobbuffet's health. Gen 6 has it blanket banned because shadow tag is banned on Gengar and Gothitelle.

I don't think its Ghost STAB will be needed if it ends up being OU. This allows it to hit like an actual anchor and makes Tyranitar fear the Pursuit switch if it uses any other attack. It can eat a Knock Off from Bisharp or Weav and kill them in return.

I think it's going to be a competitive flop, because it relies way too heavily on dumb opponents; A -2 Minior is not going to be difficult to OHKO by any stretch of the imagination. The Minior player needs to predict the attack to time the Shell Smash to go off with Shields Down, while the other guy simply has to either bait it out or put themselves in a position where they can OHKO it from full anyway.

Minior is weird for me too. While it can clean up pretty well, all it can do before smashing is set up rocks. It's not like Cloyster that can at least attack without a Shell Smash because it has pitiful 60/60 offenses. It can't smash willy nilly because White Herb is what it needs to set up without dying. 60/100/100 offenses isn't anything special either. It's also complete Taunt bait.

That said, Minior does have some redeeming things. It isn't status bait because Shields Down keeps it immune to status when it's healthy. It can afford to invest in bulk since not even Adamant Sand Rush Excadrill outspeeds Adamant 0 speed IV Minior.

Your moveset makes sense, but the EV's in speed don't really make sense to me since she's slow as shit anyway, and needs as much bulk as possible to survive the hits she'll inevitably have to take. I'd go:

252 HP/ 252 SpA / 4SpD

Does it learn Psyshock? If so, that may be an option over Psychic.
