When you first encounter a Pokémon, only the first slow matters. When a Pokémon tries to call for help, it'll call one from the same position, but on a random slot.

So if you find a Pichu from Route 1/Table 2, when it calls for help it'll either call another Pichu, a Pikachu or a Happiny.

This is just what I read from another thread so I'm not sure on the exact details.

Different patches of grass/different areas use different tables. At least the pokedex points out which patches of grass yield certain pokemon.

Some of the tables are wrong though
Nowhere does it say that Poliwhirls exist, but in-game dex shows Poliwhirls appear in malie garden and I've gotten Poliwags to summon them

Also, might be worth noting that encounter modifying abilities might work with summons. I had a cute charm male Sylveon as my lead, and in two cases I tested at least 8 our of 10 Mankeys that got called in as reinforcements were female, even if the Sylveon wasn't out.

I can garantee for sure that Abra can carry Twisted Spoons on Sun version, I farmed it.

I got about 4 of Spoons after catching about 50 of them.

Well shit. I guess it doesn't list wild held items from pre Gen 7 pokemon. For now I guess we'll just need to assume Gen 6 wild held items. So I guess sorry for your (or the other anon's) bad luck with King's Rock Poliwhirl.
The Poliwhirl appearing at all still bothers me.
