he said it was something about not using special characters
this worked for me, so i decided to do some tests
(i also changed my region to US, since it was set to russia for some reason despite the DS version being US, idk if that affected it)
-i kept my trainer as "name" throughout
-naming pokes all lowercase and no spaces is OK
-using tapus is OK
-using type null/silvally is NOT OK
-using UBs is NOT OK
-using mons that pkhex says have invalid encounter OK
things i haven't tested:
-zygarde, any forme
-more permutations with capital letters, spaces, other characters etc.
-changing your trainer name to something else with similar rules about characters
