What baffles me about this UB is that usually pokemon that seem to be based on the combination of two seemingly random concepts actually have some sort of pun/connection hidden.

Is there anynything of the sort for "mosquito"+"bodybuilder"?

I thought it was obvious that she's based on copepods. The antenna and hair shape mimic the general body of one, even down to the long legs with weird pronged feet.
The concept is the same, though. Not too many people who would find copepods beautiful.
