In retrospect, Rayquaza has the ability to get a guaranteed 2HKO on any Pokemon in the entire game, so I guess this was expected.

Still really impressive that it can take a super-effective hit, though. And from Mega Fug, no less.

So how the fuck does it work? Is Fluffy the equivalent of a +4 in Defense when hit with contact moves? 'Cause I started messing with the damage calculator using the same Rayquaza set just to check for myself and it wasn't until I set the thing to +4 that Bewear started surviving Dragon Ascent

The others, Stone Edge, Rock Slide, and Gunk Shot, are not nearly common enough or Bewear resists them anyway.

I would be more worried about Special attackers anyway

I hardly think that matters. That was a Banded STAB Super Effective hit if anything V-Create would hit less hard because unlike dragon Ascent Mega Fug doesn't get the STAB boost

STAB on a 120 move would make it 180 power, V-Create is already 180 power, if they're used against a Pokémon that recieves neutral damage from both they hit just as hard

See using Battle Tree as sort of a test since I haven't tried it online yet(waiting for official release) I've learned that my dumb idea on splitting HP/Sp.Def Evs and going max Attack EVs allows him to survive by just enough to one shot anyone who attacks him. Both special and fire-types. I've lost twice using this strat there, once to a Nasty Plotted-baton pass to a Salazzle and once to Red who aura sphere'd it with a Mega Blastoise(Bewear was too slow to one shot it).

Of course this is just Battle Tree and not actual people so I don't know if my Bulk Up strat is smart, but Bulk Up+Leftovers allows to prepare Bewear for a huge sweep. If I had enough patience to breed another Bewear I'd try a 252 attk/252 speed with a weakness policy and bulk up set up.

It's still a contact move so it gets halved just like how Dragon Ascent is super effective but gets halved due to being a contact attack.

Yes but both STAB Dragon Ascent and non-STAB V-Create will hit for equal damage and both hit Bewear for Super Effective there is no functional difference. Anyway the calc was wrong and both will OHKO Bewear but still Bewear is a bulky motherfucker
