If I were to rate each region based on the Pokemon they introduced and *only* new Pokemon, It'd be 5 > 7 ≥ 6 > 3 > 2 ≥ 1 = 4.

Unova gave us the most Pokemon at once, with a lot of unique and interesting designs to choose from. Kalos and Alola break the trend, but most if not all of the new Mons follow the quality over quantity idea, with Alola being slightly better just because Slurpuff and Aromatisse exist (Kalos' line-up is mostly fantastic).

The rest I don't have to explain much, but the only way any new generation will dethrone Unova's Pokemon is if they take the number the 5th generation introduced and combine it with the quality the 6th and 7th generations introduced. We would have the best of both worlds.

Until then, enjoy more psychic legendaries, slow, gimmicky Pokemon, and short dex numbers :/
