So I'm trying to put together a comprehensive balltism guide for Sun and Moon and I'm not quite sure I have all the new breeding mechanics down, so I was wondering if someone with access to PKHeX could do some testing and clear up a few things for me.
I've heard reports when breeding a male and female of the same species, the offspring can inherit either parent's Poké Ball. If this is correct, it means that Pokémon found in both HGSS and gen 5 or 6, but not in SM, should be legitimately breedable with both an Apricorn Ball (or Sport/Safari Balls where applicable) and their hidden abilities, and that Alolan forms can be bred in Dream Balls. To test this, I would like someone to breed a male Weedle in a Sport Ball with a female HA Weedle in any other ball and see if any of them hatch in a Sport Ball instead of the mother's ball.
I also heard from one of the dataminers that for species with Alolan forms, the offspring will always be Alolan forms regardless of the parent's form unless at least one parent is a non-Alolan form holding an Everstone, in which case the offspring will always be the non-Alolan form, apparently regardless of which parent is Alolan and which is not. Not that I don't trust the dataminers, but I just want to be sure this is 100% accurate, because it also means we can get non-Alolan forms in Beast Balls. I need someone to breed a female Alolan Rattata in a Beast Ball with a male non-Alolan Rattata holding an Everstone and see if the offspring are indeed non-Alolan Rattata in Beast Balls.
