Here's how the Japanese draw characters by age:
1-8: Literally a toddler.
8-10: Literally a slightly larger toddler.
10-16: Japanese prime, characters look like they are between 18 to 24 years old.
16-19: The rapid decline. Characters look like they could be nearing 30.
20-30: Characters look like they are in their late forties. Men get called "Old Man" by the main characters who are always much much younger. Women become inexplicably french mother figures instantly. Think Robin from One Piece.
30 and up: They might as well just jump off a bridge at this point. We've entered "JUST FUCK MY SHIT UP" territory.
