Actually pretty decent.
People will just continue to avoid making contact, but at least people won't be able to just use ineffective moves on the shield turn anymore.

Now all we need is a move that forces contact on non-contact moves ("Personal Space Attack", or something), and nothing will stop Aegislash... nothing!

Aegislash is good, that I will disagree with, but it is a heavily overrated Pokémon. I find them predictable and easy to disassemble.

I've always preferred Eviolite Doublade, personally. Keeps its high defense and high attack at all times, instead of having to dance around.

Smogon only thinks Aegislash is broken because it turns the game into a coin flip ("will he shield or will he attack?") and they want the game to be as predictable as possible.

But Aegislash is certainly strong, not just as broken as some people want to make it out to be.

I really want Spookysword to be useable in gen 7 OU. I hope this doesn't affect that.

Thinking about it though, it doesn't seem like it'll affect singles at all. When would you ever use a noneffective move on Aegislash? It can't switch in and use King's Shield at the same time.

I think that was exactly the point. Long Reach (immunity) won't stop you from having your attack lowered by King's Shield

Not that Decidueye will end up in OU let alone Ubers anyway

The moves that are affected by Long Reach are considered non-Contact, the King's Shield should not affect Decidueye in any case, just now Normal, Figthing and Poison contact moves will get -1 atack

You got it wrong, it means that king's shield will lower the attack even if aegislash itself is immune to the contact move that was used.
Non-contact moves still do trigger it.
