I'm already using my lurantis save file for the eshop copy I actually preordered sun
It's as easy as using JKSM to extract the save and inject it into the eshop copy
remember to also delete the leaked game + ticket before going onlie if you want to be extra safe

The 0 you mentioned is probably the zeroed-out NCCH header, which contained a version string of 0; nothing to do with the ticket but it should be a red flag if you pop up online with the game, since the eshop copies have a version string of 32

forgot to mention, JKSM won't restore unless you have a save file; just load the game once (even without saving) and it should work, if it doesn't, get in game (room with the Meowth), step up from the bet and hit save, you can now import your save.

free shop is technically the preload, if you go into the eshop and the game isnt officially out in your timezone the game could lock itself until midnight your time, at least that's what I've been reading.

So I recently installed arm9 and have been playing moon but I have not updated my 3ds's firmware, so I can't play online, or access the eshop. I can see my friendlist just fine, it's the only thing I've tried. So, if I update through system settings should I be okay and ready to play?

Wanna know this too. I tried checking my friendlist and it was fine, I also tried to launch online on Omega Ruby and I couldn't because I needed to update both the game and my console, I assume that since I didn't get the banned message I'm alright.

No idea what version is up on Freeshop, if the speed is the same I'd say go for QR (guaranteed CDN). But it's still probably CDN content (ie eshop files), so whatever floats your boat.

alright here's my update
I played the lurantis leak day it came out, never used online at all and had wifi turned off the whole time. made moon backups through jksv, deleted title and ticket through fbi and reinstalled moon through freeshop, started the game up and quit after language selection, injected my previous save sucessfully, I'm currently in CST and have been able to use online just fine.

There is too much paranoia in these threads. Nintendo cannot detect your tickets or the version you are playing, the ban wave occurred exclusively because they detected people connecting online on their servers. That's why they told reviewers not to use online.
