The pseudo-intellectual virgin neckbeards of /v/ and /vp/, who have been calling it S&M because muh ebin sex reference, caught wind of this, and as is per tradition, began to soil their shit-encrusted diapers over the use of the term simply because it originated from Reddit, and of course how dare you betray your website by affiliating yourself with those dirty redditors! Nevermind the fact that hating on Reddit died in 2012 and is just a newfag thing now.
Literally the rest of the Internet calls it by SuMo now and there is nothing they can do about it, no matter how much they bitch and cry and fling their own shit trying to reprimand others for doing it. The autism surrounding it is so severe that threads are derailed just because of this retarded witch hunt, so it goes to show how full of themselves they are thinking their abbreviation is so superior that they need to force it onto everyone else. Typical contrarian 4chan at work. Call it whatever you want but using SuMo will get your shit derailed so just use it to trigger the fatfuck virgins into submission instead, won't cost you any effort whatsoever on your part.
