How usable is Mimikyu going to be?

It's got such a great typing but its moves are almost all Special...and its Attack stat is almost double its Special Attack stat. Wat do?

This set is good. You could potentially swap shadow claw with leech life but both work well. Mimikyu is legit good, UU at worst.

Also the fact that Disguise lets it switch in for free on anything except TWave/WoW or shrug off a huge attack while it SDs or revenge kills.

Shadow Claw is pointless, there is practically no scenario where it's substantially better than Sneak and Play Rough isn't straight up better.

Leech Life has a lot of potential, though.

Quagsire isn't something you encounter often with how often it changes tier. WH isn't bad but mimikyu needs all the HP it can get, I think having such great recoil would be more of a burden then anything.

There's absolutely no way you could run him mixed or even full SPA, right? His special moves are so good...but that stat...argh... If his Thunderbolt was usable I'd be supremely happy.

Yeah, with 50 SPA it's not a good idea to go full spa

I can see him being a niche/surprise tank though, it has 80/105(!!!!) defenses, avoids damage 1 turn, and decent support movepool featuring

It has godawful hp though, and its only reliable recovery is pain split

That's when you use Play Rough, which is stronger. It's only for the specific scenario that you're against something slower AND Play Rough is not effective AND you the 30 bp difference between the two gives you a 2HKO/3HKO.

In other word, I'll just take the lifesteal.

fair enough, are there any notable z moves that mimikyu gets access to without z-splash? I don't know many z-moves besides the generic ones and Z-Destiny Bond/Z-Splash

The thing is, with Shadow Claw, you have fewer counters.

SD Life Orb Mimikyu can take out a Scizor, Heatran, Ferrothorn and has a good chance of taking out Skarmory after rocks before they can damage Mimikyu using Shadow Claw + Shadow Sneak or Shadow Claw again.

You bring Mimikyu in on something that its immune or highly resistant to either with a slow U-turn/Volt Switch or Baton pass or after your pokemon faints, then SD while they switch to a counter. You then trade attacks, doing immense damage to them while they only hit your disguise.
