You have to wait. They use different models in the overworld/cutscenes compared to battle models, so you'll only know after the whole SIMBA cutscene.

What are the version exclusive Pokemon? I've checked some sites, and they give me a consistent list except for the Goomy line and Trapinch line, some sites say you can get Goomy only in Sun and some say only in Moon? (same for Trapinch of course) Which is correct?

There is no way to pull up the menu without the X button, no. You *might* be able to pull something off by going, say, to the Battle Tree, if you've got that unlocked and if it works like Battle Maison did. Something like that will be your only real hope I'm afraid.

Nah just UBs and legendaries. They don't shiny lock the starters because they want you to be able to get them but for it to actually be random and down to luck, so they extend the scene immediately after as long as possible to deter resetters and create an artificial scarcity of them.

As long as you wait until the amount of time since release exceeds your playtime then you're fine. If you haven't been online they won't be able to tell when the save was started (well technically they can but they have zero reason to look into it since you did nothing suspicious by waiting so you won't appear a pirate to the system).

It's not just that there is no reason to look at the save file start date, it's that that is tied to your 3DS's set clock and date which could be completely wrong. Your start date could be 9/11/01 for all it matters; it's nonsense, and has no bearing on anything. If they actually start banning for it they will hit lots of legitimate people who never bothered to set the date any different than the default 1/1/2010 when they fired the thing up for the first time.

okay so... they changed a bit in this version compared to the .cia we got.

I leveled my festival plaza to 105 during hacked-phase... and I kept getting shit stores for leveling up (1-2star mostly).

Now I lvld up to 106-110 and I keep getting 4-5star only. Also the "you lvld up" sequence starts as soon as I get the fc point for wondertrading, previously I had to reenter the building I think...

any other changes known yet?

Not him, but on a n3ds battles are totally fine unless it's a double battle. 1v1 or 1v2 is peachy keen, but 2v2 with additional trainer models on the field and it starts to lag again.

It's a huge step up from gen6, but not perfect by any stretch of the imagination.

As soon as you want, don't wait for Thunderbolt because you can just Heart Scale it if you want it before postgame anyway.

The latest I'd wait is after Discharge, there's only a 10BP difference so it's good enough ingame.

If you turn off the EXP Share then it becomes the hardest mainline nuzlocke game. Totem battles and boss fights will surprise you at how tough things are. The 4th Kahuna actually blacked me out, something I've never had happen in a nuzlocke run before. And then you get to the Elite 4 and fight Hau for the last time and... well, good luck.

Yes. However! The patch of Grass below has a MUCH gighert chance. Once you've unlocked Lapras, go back to Route 3 and enter the Meadow. There, go to the south east corner and there's a hole in the mountain, which enters you into seaward cave.

Go through the cave, out the other side to the beach and go to the patch of grass there. Level 16 Bagons for days.

You probably aren't in the right grass patch. In Gen7 not every grass patch in a given route has the same pokemon. The only Bagon I've ever seen spawn is in the patch across the water down in the bay.

They respawn every day at midnight. Each pile has a chance to have a crab in it, determined at the time of respawn.

Honestly, if you want to add one to your party then waiting is better anyways. Fucking thing can't evolve until Victory Road anyways.

check another day for a new pile. I was blessed with two big piles on route 3 and the berry field, so I got lucky, but I heard that some only got small piles. Once you see a big pile (should give you 5 berries instead of the regular 3) you can save and reload for nature/stats.

back when I did ORAS, I had to ban all PSS services (O-Power, Amie, Super Training), EXP Share, the Poke-Finder (to keep encounters random, rather than waiting for shaking grass or deliberately invoking it), and Mega Evolution.

is there anything in SunMoon that I will need to ban to keep the game from being WAY too easy? or is the list just about the same?

Ban EXP Share or else you'll be 7-10 levels above everything, just like Gen6.

Pokemon Refresh is just as busted as Amie was, so ban that too.

You could ban Z-Crystals if you want. They do make Totem fights in particular a lot easier, as a SE Z-Move will usually OHKO a Totem. Against trainers they aren't too bad, though, as at most they let you OHKO one of 4-6 Pokemon.

Right before your second trial on the Second Island. Location is Brooklet Hill's grass. If not that, then immediately after your second trial when you get the ability to fish. Team would be around level 17-20 I think.

So I got the special event Munchlax and decided to train it. Currently trapped in battle with the trainer in the beginning that has a Gastly. Every time I wake up, it puts me to sleep, it's Spited Metronome down to zero, and it's used Mean Look. Does Mean Look wear off, and if not, does Struggle work on ghost types?

So I just checked the Moon encouter tables. It says that I can catch a Bagon on route 3. Thing is the table says I should be encountering Wingulls, Ratta and Slowbros as well, and I'm stuck with Fearow, Cutiefly etc. Anyone know why ?
