I think I actually saw it in a previous thread. Is this something involving a car crash and the Machamp having survivor's guilt or something?

Yeah.
It's really unexpected, they never do stuff like this in Pokemon games.

It was mitigated a bit by how silly the widow looked being carried by Machamp though.

Man we already got some creepy dex entries, sad ghost story like in BW2, the lonely old man in XY and now this and some other sad stuffs in SM. Very surprised they put this.
