Pokemon Red 2 & Pokemon Blue 2 seem very likely if you've noticed the hints in Sun & Moon.
The annoying girl companion left on a boat at the end of S&M to go to Kanto and the annoying smiley boy companion stated that he wants to go to Kanto to see his dad. There were also various other mentions of Kanto as well as it being "not that far away".
With the popularity of Pokemon Go a few months back and the fact that Fire Red and Leaf Green are out of date (No Special/Physical split, GBA etc) it seems very likely to happen next.
