BW2 has excellent post-game and side quest material.
My problem is that I just fin the the region and story so lifeless, that I lose the motivation to really do anything more in the game after beating it.

First time I played W2 I took a a month break after beating the story before doing optional shit like the PWT, Pokestar studios and the Yancy sidequest. Probably the closest I have been to dropping the franchise

The 20th anniversary would have been a great opportunity to bring back PWT, not to mention the 4 year gap like the Olympics. Having to create models for all those characters would have even "justified" the lower number of new Pokemon.

Completing PWT is shorter 'cause you just need to do 3 battles in each tier, but the amount of total fights in PWT far surpasses the Battle Tree

Plus completing the PWT just gives BP, and you have to grind BP to get items, which means fighting all those different gym leaders/champions never gets boring

PWT is a far more varied experience

nobody just played it, I'm sure it a great epic of a game/story snice it has two parts and I know it had good animation thing going on. At least it was the last game that had a solid framerate.

It seemed it came out at a odd time because everyone didn't play it. maybe the remake will combine both games into a awesome long one.

So, it brought us autism grinding, a type that broke the game more than fix it and online features that have been a fucking standard since a decade ago.

Nah, the game is still shit. DP brought us the physical special split and online, but it was still a goddamn awful game which is already overshadowed by every game that came after it. Same with XY and ORAS.

The original Sliver is not outdated at all.
the music,the sprites,animation and the night/day and feel of the japanese world will never get old.

I remember the ending made me cry because it was just such a good game.

You can only get that feeling out of bgm and well detailed sprites.

not that guy but i calculated, PWT has 390 fights which is a few more than the maison.

though you only fight "all those" in certain tournaments and they always have the same pokemon, so it's not really "never get boring".

But the thing is you never know which trainer you're going to fight, and you can't make a team that literally beats everyone and counters every weakness

Chances are you're going to end up with a trainer in PWT that will be strong against your team in some way

Sure the teams don't change, but your opponents do and are unexpected

The problem I have with BW2 (and HGSS, for that matter) is that everything seems to be focused on the post-game, while the MAIN game is lackluster. After I beat the League, it's nice to have something else to do, but I don't feel like doing dozens of optional sidequests when I could just start playing another game.

Why are you playing White 2 instead of Black 2? You're supposed to get the sequel to what you have, and if possible do a memory link with your original game for some extra shit.

Also I don't know if you will like it, because I don't see how someone can love BW this much and dislike BW2. The story in my opinion is weaker (mostly because I can't stand Hugh) but Unova itself is so much better, and seeiing how it changed from the first games is pretty cool.
Also, I fucking love the side stuff it has, that was the lowest point of BW1, there was hardly anything to do outside of the main story.

Like I'm certain one of Blue's pokemon used like 5 different types of moves on me throughout several runs

Also I thunder wave'd Alakazam like >>30039374 and my own Pokemon got paralyzed at one point because of its ability

But then in another run I did the same thing and I didn't get paralyzed

the problem here isn't the number of returning characters, it's who they picked

Just speaking from personal experience, but I almost skipped Gen V entirely because of my experience with Gen IV,

I bought pokemon Pearl day one as I had most every previous pokemon game, and I felt so apathetic about the series afterwards that I only played BW and B2W2 long after they'd been released.

I picked White 2 because I figured I'd get the exclusives I missed out on the first time. I realized my mistake after the game was already in my hand.

I'll give it a shot but I dunno. I can't put my finger on it. Maybe I'm just getting bored of Pokemon in general. I am only at like right after fifth gym so maybe it gets better.

I didn't like most of the remixed music, if I recall it was all techo-fied. Was always longing for the finals so I could listen to the PWT Finals music instead.

Also the Gym Leader tourneys were pretty lame, the special modes like Mix and Rental were better, or the Download tourneys that let you fight the year's VGC finalists were better.

There is an exception though. If you download their tournaments they release, you'll get different groups for them. Also Mix Masters have different groups of teams as well. So in summary: They have static teams within the type of challenge you choose.

They're really just custom trainers with a Gym Leader coat, which is super cool for the PWT, my favorite part, it's fun fan service.
