The only times that we haven't had given default names for nameable characters are with
>Silver for the Gen II rival, since that's what his name will default to in Gold, Crystal, and HeartGold, but not Silver and SoulSilver>Kris for the female Gen II protagonist since that's the first default name that appears in the name list. It could just as easily be Crys, Chris, or Krys in Japanese going by "クリス">Leaf for the FRLG female protagonist since that's one of the default names in FireRed, but it could just as easily be Fire, or even Blue when thinking of her from Gen I>Jun (Barry) for the DPPt rival since it's the first non-game default name in Diamond and Platinum and the name used in the animeAll other rivals have set names, while the protagonists of Sun and Moon don't appear as NPCs at all.
