It's an undisputed fact that the quality of a Pokemon is determined by it's stat distribution, it's ability, it's movepool and it's overall battle viability. How a Pokemon looks is ultimately irrelevant, because if it succeeds in all other aspects it is far more likely to endear itself to people than if it's just got a poor design

A clear example of this is Bewear. There was a vocal majority of people hating it and Stuffle because of how they looked, and yet the moment it was shown to not be hot garbage, people quickly began changing their minds.

In inverse, the starter trio is an example of how quickly people turn on Pokemon that can't carry their own weight. Before learning their stats there were non stop threads for them, now they're gone. No one cares in the least.

Please, post examples of yourself 180ing on a Pokemon because it's design was shit but it was great at everything else, or because it's design was great but shit at everything else
