What do you think of our new traveling companions?

I think Hau is a better character than most people give him credit for. He isn't completely toothless like the XY gang and he's refreshingly self-aware about his tendency to annoy others with his optimism and easy-going attitude, but he takes it all in stride. I think it also helps that they collapsed the friendly rival back into one character, so that he interrupts you three-to- fours times less than the XY rivals did. Hau's a pretty good bro.

I expected to like Lillie more than I do, but she kind of falls into the trap of constantly getting lost / needing to be rescued. It's amazing that even other NCPs bad-mouth her behind her back about this. She's also disappointingly one-dimensional. I am admittedly pretty early in the game, but everything she says basically boils down to "NEBBY WHAT ARE YOU DOING? GET IN THE BAG." I honestly think she needs another facet of her personality so she isn't so repetitive. We never get to see what work she's doing as Kukui's assistant. She also seems to be interested in fashion, and while that would be a good characteristic that gels with her desire to be more self-expressive, that's not really reflected at all aside from her mid-story wardrobe change.
