Muk literally looks like waste, so it's Poison.
Haunter is instantly known as a ghost because of his shape and name.
Vulpix is easy to find out too because of the color and the name, Vul for Vulcano.
I don't think Gen 1 has a single Pokémon where you find out instantly what type it has, maybe Raticate if Dark type existed during that gen.
Actually, no, fuck this, during Gen 1 if something was white, gray or did not resemble any type at all it was Normal Type, period, a good example is Kangaskhan or Chansey.
