What is even the moral here? That one day you'll grow old and just wait for death to take you?

I haven't even seen anybody mention this quest at all, does that mean I'm the only one that finds this shit strange as all fuck?
The entire premise of this quest is literally going to old people who each say some creepy ass shit foreshadowing their death.

This is easily the weirdest and most out of place thing I've seen in a pokemon game, and yes I know there was something 'sort' of similar in X&Y what with the whole giving the old man a low level pokemon just before he dies etc.

What the fuck is this shit? I'm just trying to play pokemon and the game is pushing the concept of time and death in my head.
