How do I turn off this stupid thing?

Also how do I skip these tutorials? It's taken me ~30 minutes to get from the gender select to the first fight.

We live in a gaming society that tries to help us as we rush to the end as quickly as possible.

This game says fuck that, tells you to sit your ass down and get comfortable, and tells you a simple little story.

It's brilliant - I feel like I'm playing Pokemon again for the first time since Gen II.

Rotom dex doesn't really stop gameplay at all. You can do pretty much anything during most, if not all of its interactions with the player. The beginning has a lot of cutscenes but it's bearable, the first time playing at least. I suggest calming down.

Be grateful it almost never actually interrupts gameplay and just occupies the bottom screen. Annoying, maybe, but it's no Navi.

It's not even as bad as Navi.

And Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time & Majoras Mask are both still amazing games to this day.

Games nowadays have shit story for the most part.

Yeah, this. I've said it before, but I feel that Ohmori is Masuda's polar opposite.
There was this video last week that had the pair saying what their favourite features were. Masuda liked all the stuff that either WAS old content (Refresh, for example), or that referenced old content, like Alola Forms. Ohmori loved all the stuff that changed up the formula, like the Island Challenge.

So it make sense that Ohmori's game has you actually have to take your time, while Masuda is all about instant gratification, since "kids don't have free time anymore".

The ONLY time it actually shows up on the top screen, is when you arrive at a new island and it upgrades your dex to show the new Pokemon that live there.
