I just beat the 3rd island kahuna and I've spent hours just capturing and training pokemon and still haven't come across any shiny.

While others have gotten them within the first hour of the game.

Feels bad.

The earliest I got a shiny was a torchic at the beggining in ruby, but usually I find shinies after having played a lot, lol.

Not much of a story aside from a AAAAAAHHH moment but after a few eggs for the perfect bear bro i got this.

Checked the IVs today's and with some smogon calc help after lvl 30 it has
31/28/31/14/31/31 Adamant, forced to be adamant to be fair

Just bumped into a shiny dugtrio in the desert maze randomly. First shiny of the gen without grinding for one so pretty happy. No pic cause phone battery was dead

Also nice touch that the pokedex shows the shiny version once you catch it

You just need to search.

SOS chaining is practically a guaranteed shiny if you have enough time/ patience/ focus as to not fuck it up. I found a shiny Stufful earlier today after a few hours of looking

Anybody remember that program that set up a wifi signal when you launched it, and if you were prepping to trade pokemon it would tell your their ID number or something like that, so you can identify who would be able to hatch it as a shiny?

Nah, you can make any fully evolved Pokemon usable. But I was discouraged since I thought it received a stat update this gen but when I went to look it up, it hadn't gotten one. Real shame since Ariados got one.
