>>30118479>>30119356>>30119921It wouldn't ever really be realistic to do true fusions though, not for every Pokemon, without taking up WAY too much time for 3D modelling tons of new fused forms. I could see them doing something like this
>Once during a battle, if the Pokemon you have on the field is fully-evolved, you can "sacrifice" a Pokemon on your team to it>So, for example, you could "fuse" a Charizard (as the base Pokemon) with a Gastly from in your party>The Gastly disappears, is unusable for the rest of the battle. You also can't cross-use fusions with Megas or Z-Moves>The Charizard takes the Gastly's color scheme, half of it's type (becoming Fire/Ghost) and gets Levitate as an ability>It also gets a base stat boost in Sp. Atk (since that's the EV Gastly gives)By making it into a simple palette swap with certain traits of the other Pokemon, I think they could make it work without it being too much of an unreasonable workload. Certain Pokemon would get brand-new designs for the fusions though, with new names, new stats and new everything. This would be for stuff like
>obvious pairs like Plusle/Minun, Latios/Latias, Solrock/Lunatone>branching evos like fusing a Bellossom and a Vileplume together, or Poliwrath/Politoed>Kanto starters: the pandering never ends, Blastasaur, Charstoise and Venuzard>Certain legendaries (Kyurem fusion would probably be retconned into this new mechanic, maybe fusions for some of the other trios could be cool)Man, fusions would be fucking awesome. And broken. Bring them on, Game Freak.
