How to get into VGC

How do I get into VGC?

I've been playing since RBY, and I play the TCG, so I understand how to battle, how tournaments work, etc.

I'm prettt much clueless when it comes to proper competitive team building, IVs/EVs, natures, etc.

Any help/links would be appreciated.

Go to pokemon showdown, choose 6 pokemon you like and then battle. You will lose a lot, check the replay and see what you should have done in order to win. If there was nothing to do, it means your team has to be reworked, try to copy the same thing that beated you. After losing lots of games and checking replays you'll start to see what moves make you lose and what make you win, and you'll get a general idea on the meta and what you are more likely to see.

Only when you get a rocking team you like to use and reaches at least 1200/1300 in ladder, transfer it on the 3DS. There are thousands of guides to do it legally or not, check them.
