Do you own any Pokemon merch /vp/? I was just cleaning out a lot of old stuff today when I came across these toys from my childhood, forgot I even had them. Would have sold them but they just go for $2-4 each or something so I decided to keep them out of nostalgia

I collect these. They made ALL of Gen 1 and Gen 2, about half of Gen 3 and 4 and not even a quarter for Gen 5 and 6

Most of them are very cheap so it's easy to collect but a few are incredibly rare. The rarest are shiny noctowl,electrode,voltorb and kingdra
($600, $200, $150 and $100 respectively). Not fixed of course, you get a lot of unsuspecting people on eBay selling those for $5 or something

I have a lot, but they aren't on display. I have the entire set of cards from Burger King for Pokemon 2000, as well as most of the original Burger King set. I'm also posting this Porygon, because I remember getting it in Las Vegas as a Japanese import and I thought it was likely rare at the time. No idea if it is.

All my stuff is packed away in boxes now because my apartment is really small, but here's my collection from around 5 years ago. It's about 3 times as big now, but I just don't have anywhere to put them at the moment.

Although perhaps its for the best, having a thousand+ Pokemon out at once just kind of looks like rainbow barf.

I love these little fuckers, OP. Had a minor heart attack when I took a detour through the toy section at Target one day a few years ago and saw Tomys on sale again.

Here are some of mine, don't have the room for a display, so I keep them in the same shoebox I've used since I was eight. I'm 26 now

I also have a ton of TCG cards, most from the 90's, Topps cards, a Tyrunt and Meowth plush, an old throw blanket, old Burger King toys, the Charizard and Mewtwo amiibo, some of the TCG bonus figures, the preorder bonus figures for HGSS and Platinum, guidebooks, the first two handbooks, the first two movies on VHS, and that little promotional tape they sent in the mail at the very start of Pokemania, and tons of other stuff that I can't be arsed to gather together for a picture right now. At one point I even had bedsheets

Newer pokemon (Gen VI, soon Gen VII) can be found in regular stores (Target, Walmart, Toys R Us has a great selection), but they can be expensive. The 4-packs with the resculpts of the Kanto starters with the XL Mega figure are about $20. Target had great prices when Tomys came back to the states (about late Gen V). 3-packs were $10.99 and 2-packs were $6.99. If you're looking for the older figures, ebay, flea markets, yard sales, and the like can be great. Many people don't realize the worth of what they're selling, so you get a great deal.

As far as I know some of the only figures of gym leaders were part of the Trading Figure Game.

A piddling amount of Sabrina figures do exist, but since the game was cancelled before her set came out, it could only be obtained as a pre-release bonus and as such it's basically impossible to find.

Tomy figures can be pretty expensive (considering their size), the vast majority of them are out of production and specific Pokemon in good condition can be hard to find. Usually the cheap ones you see are lots of scuffed and broken Tomys that some kid played with, with maybe one or two salvageable ones in the mix.
