-Together BW and BW2 had one of the better attempts at telling a story in Pokemon games without nearly as much railroading and cutscenes as gens 6 and 7

I always recommend BW2 because of the mixed dex, but I've had people tell me they wished they started with 1 instead.

It doesn't really matter which one you choose.
