Nope, just finish all the UB quests and Looker will rub in saying he saw a black monster refracting light over Melemele Island and Anabel says it's just fatigue. After that he appears in Ten Carat Hill but only in the patch of grass at the back of the area above where you enter. You get there by going right and up the incline as soon as you get into the area. He's level 75 so pop a repel and it'll make sure he's the only one to pop out.

Necrozma only appears in a certain field of grass in Ten Carat Hill. Go left as soon as you enter and follow the slope up and towards the camera and you'll find the field he spawns in.
