Plenty of lesser Pokemon can be heard making almost human sounds in-game. For example: Verdant Cavern in Sun. Ilima's trial features Yungoos and Gumshoos.
The first Yungoos you find in a small den squeaks out "no-meeeeee!" before the battle. It would rather be left alone, and ran away to hide in the den when you and Ilima first showed up.
The Gumshoos you fight before the totem keeps switching between dens to avoid you. When you finally catch up to it, it hisses "buzzzaff!"
Mimikyu also speaks in short, broken sentences. It may all just be coincidental onomatopoeic sounds, of course.
