So far it's pretty good. But its attack is higher and doesn't learn a good grass type move for it until level 59.
Other than that I love it. Caught an Adamant nature one on my first try.

It hits hard and can tank physical hits pretty well, but it learns its only physical Grass-type move, Power Whip, really late. So you're gonna be stuck with Shadow Claw, Anchor Shot, and some coverage moves like Brutal Swing/Brick Break + Swords Dance for a little while.

Just save before the water ripples, then soft reset with L+R+Start if you don't fish it up. Water ripples stick around when soft resetting.

Coral and trees are living things anon, unless you consider anything that isn't an animal an object. I don't think gen 2 has any pure objectmons, the few that resemble objects are still based primarily on living things.
