Using an antidote isn't even the best way to waste a turn. Just use adrenaline orb. You'll have them with you if you're chaining anyway, and as far as I know if you repeatedly use them, a text saying "nothing happened!" is displayed and you don't use up any more adrenaline orbs.

Or you could just switch pokemon.

Cute charm or synchronize is good to start an encounter with, but you also say to swap in to another Pokemon anyways. Worry seed still allows you to see what ability they had before changing it to insomnia
