it showed him what he was repressing; that he's just a dead beat nobody with no real family or home. that moment of passing through and looking into his mind and soul, to him it must have felt like an eternity, even though it was over in an instant (kinda like how if youve ever been in an accident, yknow, how time seems to slow down and your life flashes before your eyes?)
essentially, i didnt possess him, but it showed him how powerless he was there and his whole life.
