Looking back XY had more variety. Alola just has short sleeves and shorts/skirts.

Pre-release I thought SM would have better customization because of hat removal and color dyes.

But actually playing the game XY's is definitely better because the clothes actually had fucking variety. In SM there are only like 3 different shirts, 3 different pants and 2 different hats and literally everything else is just different textures pasted on. It's too samey.

According to Game Freak people who live in Hawaii don't ever wear long sleeved anything

It's kinda lame but a France-esque region complete with a Paris-esque city would logically have a lot more in the way of fashion than a secluded island region. France has different climates and different types of styles and people. Hawaii is tiny, basically has one climate unless you decide to go hiking in the mountains, and just isn't really known for its fashion.
