They are one of the values that determine the power of your mons, but the game never refers to them or gives you a way to see them, beyond looking at the total stats nd calcíng them yourself.
Which is OK, since they are only really neccesary for compettive multiplayer, and the kind of person that actually breeds and trains his mons for that loves that kind of math.
