>>30244442It's like a 7/10. An 8 if you really like the story and the atmosphere, it is pretty comfy at times. It is a pokemon game almost like every other pokemon game that came before it. The only truly big difference is that you fight 2-3 "Boss" Pokemon between much sparser gym leader Kahuna fights.
The hand holding, linear path and cutscene spam is really out of control and a huge drag.
The difficulty is very two-faced. You'll hear people claim they were surprised by Totem Pokemon or some guy using a EV trained STAB Z-Move, but the vast majority of trainers cap at 1-2 pokemon. This includes important boss NPCs into the second half of the game.
The game is clearly a bit rushed. Every town in the game has blank squares and painted on doors and that one fucking stack of steel girders. Every route is really tiny. There aren't any really good or complex dungeons. Some of the HM Move/Ride Pass stuff is pointless. The game chugs down to 10 FPS on doubles battles. I assume Stars on the Switch will run pretty smoothly and have a lot more areas to explore.
Some of the other features are hit or miss. I think Poke Pelago is pretty comfy but the Festival Lounge Castle whatever is super pointless(it gates dying your clothes? Whatever.) The "CALL FOR HELP" thing can be super annoying. You want to catch a new mon, he calls for help. You kill his helper, he immediately resummons it the same turn. Don't have any early paralyzer? Whoops!
