Because it'd be kinda weird if the few Kantonians and Johtonians who migrated to Alola a long time ago brought at least a few of every single Gen 1 and 2 Pokémon with them and even weirder if every single one of those Pokémon species features and ecology needed to change to the point where they are completely different now in order to adapt to Alola.
