We'll get either a third version next year or sequels in 1-1.5 years due to the popularity. This/these will release also on the Switch at the same time, shortly after the release of the Su/Mo ports.
Then, we'll get gen 4 remakes in 2ish years from now (which will be multiplat to reuse the engine) and then gen 8 in 3 years (switch exclusive)
Though with all the kanto references and only like 1-2 references to Sinnoh they might decide against gen 4 remakes and start the remake cycle over again, in an attempt to bolster Switch sales.
