Do you overstock on potions/revives/etc when preparing to go into a new area? Or limit the number you have on you for a challenge, and to force yourself to manage inventory?

I just got through the valley leading up to Totem Kommo-o and nearly wiped with no potions left. My only Pokemon left after beating the last Veteran before the Totem was a 2 HP Pikachu.
