5>4>7>6>3=2>1
5 had the best everything, but only when the sequels came out, if i could pick out some flaws, it would be the mediocre first games, hit or miss pokemon designs and features no one ever uses.
4 was the most solid gen all around and the games were packed with the most content despite the copy pasted battle frontier.
7 has phenomenal music, solid pokemon designs, a good story (for pokemon) and some beautiful locations that are amongst the best in the series not to mention it's the best looking game so far. I'd rate it first if the next games are the same quality.
6 was mediocre but had the best quality of life improvements that made them fun to play. ORAS was the better of the two imo
3 was fantastic when going from 2 and 1 but all 3 Gens feel disgusting to play after playing the new games.
