Since a pokemon is always the same species of its mother unless the mother is a Ditto, the starters are made mostly male so player can't breed more of them until getting a Ditto.

They could just put the breeding place after Ditto becomes catchable, though.

I must have luck with Littens only. I bred a box of Popplios and Rowlets as well and only got 1-2 females out of them
