My now eight year old daughter has finished Moon. Her impression, having played Diamond, Heart Gold, White, White 2, X, Alpha Sapphire and Yellow over the past summer (I bought her a DS and gave her all of my old carts to keep her busy) is that it's the best game in the series. She didn't see any of the leaks but when she gravitated towards muh Litten I told her that the seal turns into a mermaid, mostly because I wanted to start with Litten lmao.

She really liked the story and characters this time around. She whined about how annoying the dialogues were in X but never had complaints about this game despite it having more. She actually had a lot of trouble with this game compared to X and especially AS which was so braindead that even she, as a seven year old little girl, complained that it was too easy. Totem Wishiwashi and Totem Vikavolt were her greatest struggles. She's made some schoolyard friends playing the game which is nice because she hasn't had much socialization over the summer since we traveled a lot. Her least favorite game remains Diamond (I have Platinum but I'm a bad father and kept it for tutor moves).

Of the new mons her favorite is Komala but she also likes Primarina, Ribombee and Lunala a lot. Her team is Komala/Primarina/Ribombee/Wigglytuff/Ninetails/Metagross. Her least favorites are Raichu-A (she liked normal Raichu a lot and says it looks dumb and has creepy eyes) and Crabrawler/Crabominable. Her favorite overall remains Scrafty and she's annoyed that she can't use it or Nidoqueen (her previous favorite answer for poison types) until January. I'm just gonna inject a Scraggy as an egg for her and put it on her cart when she goes to bed on Christmas Eve because seriously fuck Nintendo. She doesn't understand how injecting and all of that shit works yet so it'll be like magic for her.
