B/W2 were the best games in the series. Anybody who thinks otherwise is delusional.

This is purely based on the main series. Gen 4 had the best meta and spinoffs.

As far as first versions go XY wasn't THAT bad (RS, DP, BW were all pretty shitty too) but there was no third version or sequel to save it like all of the other gens had

They'd have to redesign the entire region too. The layout with its numerous dead ends and over use of HMs were atrocious.
GF even had to go full damage control in gen 5 by simplifying the region design and drastically reducing the use of HMs in the main game because of the complaints.

Bit too slow text but everything else was great. It perfected Pokémon with HG/SS.

Then there's a hell of a lot of missed potential plot wise. Hell the distortion world could have been used in a similar way to the Ultra Wormhole.

i liked the plot/pacing. the variety of terrains wasn't really a problem if you're patient enough and gives the region a lot more variety than the others. but i agree with some of the mons and The Fucking Rival.
the music alone in 4 was enough to make it the best imo. the whole atmosphere of sinnoh in general.

That's the thing, the game already felt incredibly slow as it is adding in the HM transitions just made traversing the region a grating experience on the player.

That's one of the reasons why gen 3 got away with having almost as much usage. Everything was quick and snappy.

Easiest games in the series whether Exp Share was on or off, terrible storyline that was just as intrusive as the superior storylines of BW or SuMo, set a new low standard for area design the series hasn't recovered from, butt-ugly overworld, garbage frame-rate, Lumiose City, no post-game whatsoever...

On the plus side, the Pokemon variety was awesome.

Like what? Saying the game was rife with glitches therefore it's fucking terrible in the case of RBY? Well I could say that that's part of the charm and I had a lot of fun exploiting all of them.

When discussing media or any form of art, you have a list of reasons why you like or do not like it. However these are not "objective" reasons why it's good or bad. They could be damn good reasons but they're not THE reasons. Because one man's trash is another man's treasure as they say.

Yes because that's your opinion on the glitches and such. However glitches are natively a flaw that shouldn't have been in the game and can potentially damage parts of the game.

You can't judge video games in the same way you judge a piece of art or music because they're inherently subjective and there's no right or wrong way to do it.
With video games there are clear rights and wrongs and you would judge it in the same way you would say, the durability of a building and how long it will hold up.

Dumbass that only applies to story and visual art. Video games are an entirely different story.
For one if it's coded like shit and is unstable like Sonic 06 or Boom then it's a bad game.
You can still have fun with it but its still not a good game.

Then there's if the game has made huge strides in QoL elements and then goes and removes them in the subsequent game.
That's bad too.
