I'm terrified of spiders IRL but no spider Pokémon are actually spooky to me. Actually any sort of CG or stylised spiders lose what makes them scary. Game devs trying to make spooky spiders completely miss the point and what makes them actually spooky.

That's the big one, though it's also the eyes for me. If a dev got both those things right then I'd be shitting myself. Also another thing is how in games and movies spiders are always making snarling noises. Another thing that freaks me out is how quiet they are. Those three are the unholy trinity that freaks me out about spiders.
