I would actually be happy. I think if 3D was embraced they would have made a Z. But because 3D ended up not being feasible they wanted to get away from that "theme" (aka XYZ representing coordinates of a 3D plane, first games on the 3DS). Thats why they rushed out ORAS to buy them time to completely scrap Z and focus on the next gen aka Sun/Moon. However Sun and Moon for the Switch were apparently being developed alongside so Nintendo has likely had Game Freak in the know about the Switch for many years. Hence the high-ass resolution Pokemon models, the appearance of the Rotomdex, the empty plots in every Alolan town, "Pokemon Stars" being a rumor in the first place, etc.

Only because "Stars" is in development doesnt mean its the very next game

You see in the past GFalways tried to make a 2 year break between main games and 3rd version, probably to give people more time to miss the region

Releasing upgraded Alola game next year is way too early because some people will still be playing and buying SM.

Thats why i think we will get another game before Stars, a final 3ds game, probably DP remakes or Kalos part 2

People should have learned by now that Eurogamer is legit. Stars is a glorified enhanced port for the Switch, probably with less "differences" from the original game than Platinum/Emerald other than an extensive post-game. From what I've read, it will be announced in January so at least leakers will get BTFO as early as possible.

I love Sinnoh, but we NEED the third version to come out before remakes, so they can cram all the third version content into the remake like they did with HGSS. If they don't do that, we'll be stuck with ORAS, except RS was more complete relative to Emerald than DP was relative to Platinum so the remake would be somehow worse than ORAS.

Its really dumb too since Sinnoh and Hoenn would be perfect together. Both regions have similar mechanics and pokemon design, both are japanese. Hoenn could've been in DP, yet they chose not to.

Either way, this is why so many people stopped after gen 2. That's the last gen where GF put in the effort, the rest is just milking the fanbase. SM is the perfect example of milking.
